LinkedIn Easy Apply questions: how to answer them faster
Easy Apply is meant to be quick, but every company asks the same questions in slightly different words: notice period, expected salary, years of experience, why you want the job. Here are the common ones, how to answer them well, and how to stop typing them from scratch every time.
The questions you'll see again and again
| Question | How to answer |
|---|---|
| Notice period | A clear number: "30 days", or "Immediate" if you can join now. Mention if it's negotiable. |
| Current / expected salary | Use the format they ask for (annual, monthly, LPA). Give a number, not "as per company norms", or the field may reject it. |
| Years of experience with X | A whole number for that skill, not your whole career. Count real use in jobs, internships and projects. |
| Willing to relocate / work on-site? | Yes or No. If it's a must-have and you'd consider it, say Yes and be ready to discuss. |
| Work authorization / sponsorship | Answer exactly. A wrong answer here wastes both sides' time. |
| Short intro / summary | 3 to 4 lines: who you are, your strongest skill, one result with a number. |
| Why do you want to join us? | The one answer worth tailoring. Mention one real thing about the company or role. |
Answer them faster, step by step
-
Write your standard answers once
Take 15 minutes and write your answers to the questions above in a note. Get the numbers right: notice period, salary, years per main skill.
-
Keep one intro, and a short "why us" template
For example: "I'm a data analyst with 3 years in SQL and Power BI. At my last job I cut weekly reporting time by 40%. I'd like to join [company] because [one real reason]." Only the last part changes.
-
Copy, paste, then check the format
Paste your answer, then check what the field wants: a number only, a Yes/No, or a minimum length. Easy Apply won't let you continue if the format is wrong.
-
Apply early

Good to know
- Must-have questions can reject you automatically. A recruiter can require, say, 3 years of Python. Be honest, but count all real experience.
- Be careful with auto-fill bots. Tools that fill in and submit forms for you can send wrong answers to the wrong job, and LinkedIn doesn't allow automated applying. Copying your own answers keeps you in control.
- Review before you submit. Easy Apply shows a summary at the end. A quick look catches a wrong salary or notice period.

Questions
Can a wrong answer to an Easy Apply question reject me?
Yes. Recruiters can mark screening questions as must-have, for example a minimum number of years with a skill. If your answer doesn't meet it, your application can be filtered out before anyone reads it. Answer honestly, but don't undersell yourself.
What should I enter for years of experience on Easy Apply?
A whole number for that specific skill or role, not your total career. Count related work, internships and projects if they genuinely used the skill.
Does LinkedIn remember my Easy Apply answers?
It fills in your contact details and sometimes an earlier answer, but each company words its questions differently, so you usually end up typing them again. Keeping your answers in one place saves the most time.
Is it safe to use a tool that auto-fills Easy Apply?
Tools that fill and submit applications for you can send wrong answers and may break LinkedIn's rules on automation. A safer approach is to keep your answers ready to copy and paste them yourself, which is what EarlyApply's Saved answers does.
